GET IT!

Shhh, there's-spinach-in-there smoothie

If your kid freaks out over anything green, then try this, they won't even realise they are eating handfuls of raw, immune-strengthening, full of goodness leafy vegetables!  In fact, it won't be long until they think spinach tastes just delicious!

You will need

A banana
Almond milk
Handful of spinach or other green leafy vegetable *^
Handful of frozen berries (blueberries, raspberries or strawberries)

*  Try spinach, silverbeet (swiss chard), kale or lettuce.  Spinach is my favourite due to its mild taste, kale is the strongest.  Please note that spinach and silverbeet (swiss chard) are high in oxalic acid which inhibits the absorption of calcium so are best eaten in moderation.  Don't let this put you off though as their health giving benefits are tremendous!  Just remember to rotate your greens or don't make this a daily treat.
^  Even though I swear you can't taste the spinach perhaps start with a less-is-more approach for the first few smoothies, you can build up the amount of greens you add over time - you don't want to scare them off in the first round!

Here's how

Put all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth and creamy!  Is it really that easy? Yes it is!
The amount of almond milk depends on how thick or thin your kid likes their smoothies, try about a cup and go from there.  The thinner it is the easier it will be to suck up a straw!
